Ike Ahmed, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Ahmed is a is a fellowship-trained glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment surgeon with clinical and research focuses on managing glaucoma, complex cataracts, and intraocular lens complications. He is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Surgical Fellowship, University of Toronto, Canada and has a clinical practice at the Eye Center and serves as the Director of the Alan S. Crandall Center for Glaucoma Innovation, both in Salt Lake City, UT.
Dr. Ahmed has developed advanced microsurgical devices and techniques in glaucoma surgery and complicated cataract extraction, and is actively involved in research and medical education at a national and international level. He has received research grants to study various topics related to glaucoma such as medications, laser and surgical devices/techniques, angle closure, imaging, as well as cataract surgical techniques and devices, and intraocular lens designs.
He has done pioneering work in innovative glaucoma surgery, developing and coining the term “Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)” as a new genre of surgical approaches and devices. He also performed the first laser cataract surgery in Canada. He has received numerous awards and in 2020, The Ophthalmologist magazine Power List named Dr. Ahmed the second most influential ophthalmologist worldwide.
Zaina Al-Mohtaseb, MD
Dr. Zaina Al-Mohtaseb is a board-certified ophthalmologist and surgeon, specializing in cataract, LASIK, and cornea surgery for Whitsett Vision Group patients, as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. She has a clinical Associate Professor appointment at Baylor College of Medicine and was the previous Associate Program Director of Residency.
She will lead continued clinical research initiatives at Whitsett Vision Group as the Director of Research.
She earned her medical degree with honors from Baylor College of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor where she was elected Chief Resident. She finished her training and fellowship at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Al-Mohtaseb is a key opinion leader in ophthalmology and an adopter of new surgical techniques and ophthalmic technologies, having authored multiple scientific publications and presented numerous lectures nationally and internationally. She is recognized as an expert in complex vision correction surgery and performs the full spectrum of procedures including cataract surgery, LASIK & PRK & ICL, presbyopia correction, DSEK & DMEK, Collagen Cross-Linking, & secondary intraocular lenses & IOL exchanges.
She is an active member of numerous ophthalmic societies and is the Chair of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Young Eye Surgeon committee which serves to educate young surgeons nationally and internationally through lectures, webinars, and wet labs. She has also won numerous awards including “Top Doctors,” BCM Women of Excellence Award & Excellence in Patient Care, and the National Award Outstanding Leader in Ophthalmology, among others.
Ashley Brissette, MD, MSc, FRCSC, ABO
Dr. Brissette is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York’s #1 hospital. She also serves as an instructor at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. Dr. Brissette is double board certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
She completed her medical training and master’s degree from McGill University (Great Distinction) and Queen’s University in Canada. She then completed an advanced fellowship in cornea, cataract & laser vision surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine in Manhattan.
She is also a media spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and presents globally on topics related to cataract surgery. She has contributed extensively to the medical literature, authoring numerous textbook chapters and scientific publications.
Morgan Micheletti MD, FACS
Dr. Micheletti is a board-certified cataract, refractive, and complex anterior segment surgeon at Berkeley Eye Center in Houston, Texas.
He is the Director of Research and is an investigator on numerous FDA and investigator initiated clinical trials. He was named to the Best Cataract Surgeons in America list, recognized as Castle Connolly Top Doctor, received the award for Incredible Innovation and Scientific Contribution, and was recently named to the top 40 under 40 list.
He received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed his residency training at the prestigious Emory Eye Center. He is an innovator who has created multiple surgical instruments with 3 patent pending devices and has developed novel approaches to surgical challenges which have been published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves on the board of directors for the Society for Excellence in Eyecare, chairs the Research Committee for AECOS, and serves as a member of the AAO ONE Network Cataract Committee and the YES Committee for the ASCRS. He also hosts The History of Eyecare Podcast.
Lisa Nijm, MD, JD
Dr. Lisa Nijm, an MD/JD, stands as an internationally distinguished corneal, cataract, and refractive surgeon. As the founder of Warrenville EyeCare & LASIK, her multifaceted expertise as a licensed attorney, innovator, and advisor for pharmaceutical and medical device companies has shaped her pivotal role in the field.
Currently serving as the Chief Medical Advisor for TruKera Medical and contributing to the Medical Advisory Board for Amring Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Nijm's influence extends beyond clinical practice. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the esteemed University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and holds key positions on the board of directors for the Cornea Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Executives (AAOE). In addition, she spearheads Women in Ophthalmology (WIO) as its CEO, where her strategic guidance has propelled the organization into a phase of exponential growth.
Internationally recognized, Dr. Nijm is a sought-after lecturer and a published, peer-reviewed author. As the course director for the Osler National Board Review Course, she has played a vital role in educating over 2500 ophthalmologists.

Rishi Singh, MD
Rishi P. Singh is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Cleveland Clinic Martin North and Cleveland Clinic South hospitals. In this role, he works with institute and Cleveland Clinic leaders to develop and implement improvement programs, hospital and outpatient quality improvement activities and strategic service line and hospital growth initiatives.
Dr. Singh is also a staff surgeon at Cleveland Clinic Florida, Professor of Ophthalmology at Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner College of Medicine and principal research investigator for the Center for Ophthalmic Bioinformatics. He serves currently on the Cleveland Clinic Board of Governors. He maintains an active clinical practice.
Dr. Singh graduated from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard University Program in Boston. He also completed a medical and surgical fellowship at Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute.
Dr. Singh has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, books and book chapters and serves as the principal investigator of numerous national clinical trials advancing the treatment of retinal disease. He is the former President of the Retina World Congress and is on the board of the American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Singh is the recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha Research Award and the American Society of Retina Specialists Senior Honor Award.
Dagny Zhu, MD
Dr. Zhu is a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon and Medical Director and Partner of NVISION Eye Centers in Rowland Heights, CA. As a first-generation immigrant, she graduated as high school Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude from UCLA on a full tuition Regent’s Scholarship and went on to receive her M.D. from Harvard Medical School. She did her residency at the prestigious Doheny Eye Institute/University of Southern California (USC) and completed her cornea and refractive fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Zhu serves as medical advisor to multiple ophthalmic companies and has published, lectured, and been featured in over 300 scientific journal articles, book chapters, professional meetings, and press features. She sits on the editorial board of major ophthalmology publications, lectures to peers worldwide, and leads cutting-edge clinical research studies on the latest presbyopia treatments. She holds leadership positions in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and is a member of the prestigious AECOS and Cedars Aspens societies.
Additionally, Dr. Zhu has garnered a large social media presence as a Healio podcast co-host and healthcare influencer (@DZEyeMD) where she educates on eye health and champions for women in medicine.
